Southern Cross Heathen

About Me

I am a Southern Hemisphere Norse Pagan ‘Asatru’ Heathen, embarking on what I am calling a “Spiritual Rebirth Journey”. I am going back to the beginning and starting fresh in the hopes of gaining a greater understanding of my spirituality.

I am doing this for a number of reasons.  The first reason is, that I would love to learn more about my ancestors and their lives.  The second is, I have been questioning myself lately due to the extremist within the Asatru communities and want to go back to the start to regain and update my knowledge.  The third is, I also want to study more in the ways of the traditional Norse Witches, to better learn and understand the different branches of Nordic Magic including Seidr and Galdr.

I am also a student, a mother of 3, a sometimes artist and I am currently undertaking a physical wellness program to lose weight, get healthy & fit.  So I can get distracted by life, if there are gaps, bare with me as I find time to juggle everything around.

I have also just begun to write my first novel.  This will not only be a learning process but good for my creative soul that has been neglected for far too long.

  1. I’m really curious about how one is a heathen in an environment so different from my own, and I hope I get to learn more about it here! Very interesting!

    • It is probably not much different except that all the seasons are opposite and there are only a fraction of us over here 🙂

      • Alas, there aren’t that many of us here either.
When it comes to differances, I think there are those that are less likely to be visible in text, and I wonder alot about how the gods feel in a climate and a landscape that is so different from the one I’m used to. That, of course, is something I can only really get an answer to should I travel there and visit myself.

      • Yes this country is so diverse. We have had floods, bushfires & snow in one day across the land. Most of the continent is uninhabitable red desert. I think each of the Gods would find themselves a suitable piece of land here though, coastlines, desert, mountains, rainforest, rivers, forests of gumtrees & eucalypts. I do recommend visiting though, we have such an amazingly beautiful country 🙂
